Cliff Merritt and the Very Candid Candidate #NN - Al Williamson art & cover

Al Williamson
Cliff Merritt and the Very Candid Candidate v1 #NN (no number), 1969? - Based on the success of Cliff Merritt Sets the Record Straight, the United Transportation Union publishes this follow-up giveaway issue. Retired railroad man Cliff Merritt witnesses his own nephew as a candidate for union leadership. The story roughly covers the election progress, though the theme is still very much pro-union. Like the aforementioned issue, Al Williamson delivers an exceptional piece of work. His realistic style is superbly coupled with the ordinary, every day American settings. The characters are drawn with distinctiveness and individualism. Williamson's pencils are streamlined further by his cleanly applied inks. This is 1 of 1 Cliff Merritt and the Very Candid Candidate issues by Williamson.
